My ride on Saturday did happen! The weather held and I was able to get my arse out of bed on a early, early Saturday morning!
That's were the boasting ends. We only got in 9.5 miles. We were unorganized and unfamiliar with the area we chose to ride in... plus the fog was really heavy, which seems to distort one's sense of direction.
Also, my buddy wasn't the aggressive/seasoned rider that I assumed him to be. Our ride seemed to be more of a social visit and a leisurely ride, than an attempt at a workout... which was fine. I need to invest time into making more freinds.
It was probably to my benefit that we didn't ride hard... because it happend again. Every time I begin a workout regime, after being stagnant for a long peroid of time, I get sick. It's nothing horrible, this time. A head cold... mostly sinus stuff. I thought in the beginning that it was just allergies, but Saturday and Sunday I felt quite crappy. I called off work on Monday and I'm wishing I'd called off today. I'm not that sick, it just sucks to be sick at work.
So, it's day three that I've not had a workout. Tomorrow I'll be working out... regardless. There's a heavy scent of Fall in the air. An indication that there are few days left, for being able to swim/bike/run outside.
